RE: Bus Conversion or Class A?

Hi, Bus Conversion! Hands Down... there is no comparison against a Factory MH.. Bus chassis are enginerred to last 2 million miles, they ride better then luxary cars, safty standards are miles above MH's, no squeeks/rattles and vibrations, and are far more reliable then truck/motorhome chassis.. Either buy an allready converted bus, or do it yourself. Either way you will enjoy quality that you just can't get with a S&S.. Come visit us bus nuts on our site at Bus conversions BBS www.gobussing.com Good Luck Nick-

RE: A/C problems

All the above answers are Correct! I would also advise you to inspect the condencer coil for dirt build up. Low park voltage on hot days is a common problem. Good Luck nick-

RE: roof AC problem?

Correct Guy's! Extention Cords are a bad thing! They actually eat up current. Do what the guys said and use a 10 ga. power cord. If you keep running the A/C's like that, you will damage them by over heating the start windings on your A/C compressor. Keep your extention cords as short as possible. The reason outdoor extention cords are not to be used indoors is because of the heat that they disapate from their pvc jacket. Good Luck Nick-

RE: Need help with Tracvision satellite dome

Hi DC, You may have expierenced a voltage problem. The unit will go into a lock-out if you have. Disconnect all power to the antenna and the reciever for 10 min's. Then follow start up directions to power up the system again. You didn't state which model antenna you have. Let us know Nick-

RE: All electric refrigeration?

Just for your information, The Norcold dc compressors do draw as low as 3.2 amps dc. One problem, they are very slow to cool but efficient. You have to concider your needs, if time is not a problem, then go for it! A household Energy Star model will suite most just fine. I have a Frigidaire counter depth Energy Star Side-by-side in my coach that is 24 cf with ice water on the door. This model draws 3.8 amps AC in refrigeration cycle and 6.2 amps AC in defrost cycle. I also have a 1000 amp hour battery bank and with the lcd's, and refrig running, I can last 2 day's on the road with out recharging. What more could I ask for? Suites our needs! Good Luck Nick-

RE: Chincoteague Island.........anybody been there??

We normally stay at Tom's Cove Campground. It's a little outdated but, is very large and great for fishing. Bike or rent scooters to travel the island. Great little shops, good restraunts, and nice people. Another 20 miles south on Rt 113 is CherryStone camp Resort. Well worth staying there and then taking a day trip into Chincotigue. Good Luck nick-

RE: basement air vs roof air

If it was so great why are the majority still roof airs? Because basement airs cost more. Plus, the duct work involved is more labor intence. I have 2 basement airs in my coach and would never use roof Warts.. Basement systems are much more quiet, less dangerous to work on, they don't leave black streaks down your coach, and are not subject to direct heat load from the sun. My basement airs are ducted through my ceiling and work perfectly. Good Luck Nick- I was in a coach with basement air one time and was looking in the bedroom when it came on. There is no way I would have it. You would never get any sleep. Scared the hell out of me when it came on. As for roof air, I have no black streaks and works perfectly. And I can't see the Manuf. wanting to spend more money. I cannot belive one second it cost more. Has to be less to do it. 1 unit vs 2? There are bad installations out there.... You have to walk in the air stream to feel the air and hear nothing at all. I designed and installed both my systems.. Have not seen anything even close to my set-up yet! Good Luck Nick-

RE: AC Start Capacitor

Hi Dave, Do you remember how the first capacitor failed? Did it burn the terminals off, or did it just have a reading of open/short? If it burned the terminals off, then you have to make sure that the terminals are secured together very tight. A loose connection will cause it to burn. If a reading of open/short, then either the compressor is over drawing on amps, or just a faulty capacitor. Good Luck Nick-

RE: Perfect time for fridge to croak!

Also Les, The best thing for absorption reefers is for them to always be warm or running. This keeps the steel condencer coil from rusting and leaking the amonia out. Nick-

RE: A&E Awning problem

Hi Halbert, It seems the notorios wind sensor has failed another.. Is your sensor on the roof or the newer one built into the front arm? Either way, you can bypass the sensor by unplugging it from the control box. If the awning still acts up after unplugging the wind sensor, then the control box is bad. Good Luck Nick-

RE: A/C units tripping breakers while driving and using Gen

Hi Guy's, Most RV roof airs pull condencer air from the rear and pushes it out the side,or top. Traveling 60/70 mph on the road sometimes doesn't allow the discharged air to flow properly and results in overheating your roof air. When a overheat happens, the unit will overdraw on amps resulting in a tripped curcuit braker and you hot.. Good Luck Nick-
